Transforming the guest experience in SA hotels, guest houses and B&Bs

Duxbury Networking, backed by its vendor partner Mitel, a global market leader in business communications, is set to offer a new suite of business solutions and consultancy services to South Africa’s hospitality industry.
To be marketed under the Mitel MiVoice banner, the offerings are designed to improve services and transform the guest experience in SA’s hotels, guest houses and bed-and-breakfast (B&B) businesses.
“With the prevalence of online review sites and guests’ propensity to access social media sites, proactively managing and adding value to the guest experience within the parameters of a modern, ‘wirelessly connected’ hotel should be high on the priority list for all owners and managers in the hospitality industry,” says John Bowen, a business development manager at Duxbury Networking.
He notes that the Mitel/Duxbury suite is one of the first of its kind and comes in the form of a wireless network-based, fully-integrated business solution designed to integrate, collaborate and interoperate with existing guest and administrative systems – such as billing, access and security systems — in a blend of analogue, digital and IP technology if necessary.
It also provides a rich cache of business analytics to assist managers to broaden the guest-appeal of their establishments through targeted marketing campaigns.
“A key benefit of the new offering — available as a series of downloadable ‘apps’ – is the ability to integrate smart phones into the system, freeing owners, managers and administrators from the need to be tied to desk-top computer systems,” he says.
“Moreover, guests’ smart phones, when connected to the hotel network, can also be used as smart cards and — via an appropriate ‘app’ – used to order food and a range of services from any location on the property and have them delivered to that location.”
Bowen adds that hoteliers opting for the Mitel MiVoice suite also have unrivalled freedom to deploy communications on-property, in a private or public cloud, or as a hybrid system.
The suite will be supported nationwide by Duxbury-accredited resellers and dealers who will also be able to offer pre- and post-sales consultancy and training services.
